The Making of the People Planters

Why: Why make a line of emotional planters? My thought was why not? I love a funny little character. By starting with a traditionally shaped planter, I had free range to make whatever I wanted on it. So emotion is was!

The faces: I wanted to have a two sided pot. One side with an emotion and one side with an underglaze floral pattern. Some if the emotions are juxtaposed to the light an airy design of the flowers. Others act in harmony with them.

The patterns: It is no secret that I love painting and using underglaze on my pots. So the patterns were a no brainer for me. The designs promote the idea of growth from within the pot. Having the sprouting floral designs around the back of the pot gives it life and color.
