I have been busy in this new year.
This is the largest, most successful vase that I have thrown so far!
She stands at 6.5" and at the widest part is about 6.5". This vase is carved all the way around with flowers, leaves, and vines. She is a good reminder that practice makes perfect.
Below are the rest of the new pieces that I have been working on for the past few months.
Recently I have been obsessing over the various styles of earrings that can be made with clay. Instead of throwing on the wheel, I have been really into handbuilding and exploring all of the possibilities that has to offer. When I have been throwing, I have been trying to throw larger like above. I have also been making items that I do not usually make like the 7" tall pitcher below. I feel like 2020 has me really thinking about how to take my work to the next level.
